So, in my previous post I did say that I've been lazing around for weeks - (and predominantly I have) but I did get up to paint our bedroom.
I decided to go for darkest blue, and in the end settled on 'Indian Ink' by
Resene..and wow, is it dark. In my head I had all these visions of a luxurious, lavish and somewhat mysterious sanctuary - but, right now...I don't love it. It's heavy and oppressive and I worry that I should have gone with something greyer and chalkier. I'm worried that my furniture is too stark against it, and I need lots and lots of paintings, prints and mirrors to lift the room. I know I'm impatient and that evolution is an important aspect of decoration, but I can't help but feel frustrated.
I haven't posted a picture of the whole room yet because it has the most ghastly curtains..and excuse the overexposed bedding - I was trying to be accurate to the wall colour. eek. I really want to make it work and I vow to work at it until it does.
*Sigh* Anyway, to cheer myself up and help me dream sweetly tonight I'll finish with a few more of my favourite bedroom inspirations.
